A number of ongoing groups have been established, but there is room for more. To read guidelines for building an interest group click here.
Film Discussion: Monthly potluck and discussion of new-release and sometimes vintage films in a member’s home. Members independently view the recent release; they may also on occasion view a related vintage film as a group activity. The potluck brings it all together.
Book Discussion: Members gather 3-5 PM on the first Thursday of the month at local book store Alma Mater restaurant at 7165 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19119, to discuss the chosen text.
Needlecraft: Members gather at knitting store Tangled Web, 7709 Germantown Avenue, on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. Members bring their self-determined own needlework projects. Advice and support available.
Neighborly Gathering: Small groups of 6 to 12 NVN members that meet regularly to socialize, enjoy discussions or activities, share food, and build a sense of community. Groups are assembled based on members’ expressions of interest.
Issues In Aging: for NVN members to identify and address concerns about the aging process including: how to cope with the physical, psychological, and mental aspects of aging in the most positive ways
Embracing Loss: This is an informal gathering of friends who have suffered a significant loss and who find comfort and support with others who have had a similar experience.
