Dr. Clifford Stanley will be discussing The Gift of Friendship: My experience of racism in America. A combination of conversation and dialogue with the audience, Dr. Stanley will consider issues such as the following:

  • How people could hate someone they don’t know.

  • What he has to think about every time he leaves his home, and

  • The danger of passivity when it comes to ignoring racism.

Dr. Stanley’s wide background includes 33 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a major general. Since that time, he has worked as Executive Vice President at the University of Pennsylvania, president of Scholarship America, and Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness under President Obama. Currently he is an executive business coach with the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches.
