Yoshiko Kendall, a member of Northwest Village Network, will demonstrate, aided by her friend, Sachiyo, how to dress in kimono to achieve the iconic silhouette with which we are familiar.   Having been raised in Japan, Yoshiko is familiar with the cultural traditions surrounding the kimono.  She will offer a glimpse of Japanese culture by explaining the visual details of the kimono and how, historically, the kimono presents the viewer with clues to such things as social class, marital status, and the family group of the wearer.
