Reinvigorating Democracy:
A Conversation with authors
Karen Bojar & John Kromer

Monday, October 5

7:00-8:00 pm on Zoom

Karen Bojar and John Kromer will apply their study of Philadelphia politics to today’s political scene.

Bojar, a Democratic committeeperson for thirty years, wrote Green Shoots of Democracy to demystify Philadelphia’s ward system and to encourage voter participation.

Kromer was recently featured in The Chestnut Hill Local for his most recent book Philadelphia Battlefields: Disruptive Campaigns and Upset Elections in a Changing City in which he draws on election statistics, data mapping, and in-person interviews to show how insurgent candidates were able to promote grassroots engagement in politics and achieve spectacular successes at the polls against an “unbeatable” political establishment. He applies his experiences to ways democracy can be “reinvigorated.” A link to the article is below.
